You suddenly catch a subtle but distinctive scent on the summer wind. It is so familiar, you know you can name it. You halt and take a deep whiff, hoping to catch the smell again. It's... Jasmine, you think. But there's something else as well. Insanely curious of what it may be, you try to track down the scent, straying from the path and into the surrounding forest. Upon entering the forest, you note that the scent grows stronger, and also that it is hardly diffucult to see amongst the trees. The sunlight glows upon the forest floor in patches and brightens the woods, as well as the many flowers growing on the ground.

Hearing footfalls, you disregard the merry chirping of the birds and the beauty of the nature around you, and turn towards the sound. Calmly wandering towards you, is a large, gold-coloured creature. As it approaches you, gone are all the thoughts of that mysterious scent, and instead you study it more closely. It appears at first glance to be a horse, a bright palomino with a flaxen mane. However, at second glance, you notice that something is not right with this supposed horse. It bears two long horns upon it's head, and it's eyes are a clear, bright jade. Now standing at your side, it appears to smirk at you, which is closely followed by an exclamation of 'Haram salu, k'zarti!' You stare at the creature, stunned. It's voice is one of rare kindness to your ears, very beautiful, yet tranquil. 'Greetings traveller, and well met,' it says, a small smile still lingering on it's lips. 'My name is Yeh'naki.'

Finally collecting yourself, you introduce yourself to the pretty animal. It bows down in return, folding a long leg beneath itself, then rising again. Having noticed the little deer tail Yeh'naki has, you decide to inquire about what sort of animal it is. 'Forgive me, but what sort of creature are you?' you ask, rather timidly, wishing not to upset a being such as this by asking your question carelessly. 'I,' it begins, 'Am a Mahnon Pah'llock. A mare of that sort, if you wish you be specific.' Having no memory of having met a Mahnon Pah'llock before, you ask of her to tell you more of her kind. She gives a short nod, before tilting her head and thinking for a while. 'Well..' she says hesitantly, '"Mahnon Pah'llock" means "guardian wild life-force" in Allori, the tongue spoken my kind's homeland, the Tir."
